le_boz
Hi fellow modellers, After a long wait I found some colourful Equatoriana decals on the bay. When I started my 707 I quickly realised that I had the wrong engines for it... Does any one know if there are some aftermarket JT4 engines for 1/144 707 ? Thank you for your help, and Happy modeling Boz
72linerlover
Hi, Boz. As far as I know Equatoriana operated 707-321B, 707-321C (ex Pan American) and 720B (ex American Airlines) and they had JT3D engines, low bypass turbofan. JT4A engines were similar to JT3C used on 707-220 on a special request by Braniff. Most visible difference is in the number of the tubes in the noise suppressors. (the same used later on 707-320 - not 320B) It happens that in some Minicraft 707-300 series kit you may find JT3D or JT4-A engines, depending on the boxing. You may try to ask Welshmodels too. le_boz
Hi Euge, I will give it a try, or buy another kit with the good engine this time. I got the Braniff 707, but the engine are different from the ones I should have on the Equatoriana 707. Thanks, Boz
Dutch
Boz, Sounds like you got the JT4 engines when you want the JT3D engines. Be careful and determine if you need three turbo hoods, or just two for your particular aircraft. r/ dutch
