82Whitey51
I got a sense of how old aircrew vets of WWII might have felt seeing their aircraft get scrapped. I logged a few dozen combat hours over Iraq in this one (BuNo 161011) operating out of Talil AB back in '07/'08. Extensive corrosion in the wing area lead to it's "scrapping on site". I hope some guys down at NAS Jax got a few souvenirs out of her first! I have a P-3 prop blade awaiting refurbishment...but I'd like to get a hold of a center windscreen (FE window) someday too. Thanks for the ride!
zerosystem
That flight deck would make a nice museum display...just saying...
TaiidanTomcat
It's always amazing to me how much engineering and work and pride goes into aircraft for decades and then Bam! scrap sale!

I assume anything of any possible use was removed from the airframe before it was chopped.
DPD1
That's a shame. I think Mugu is supposed to get rid of their 'billboard' models.

So I guess 341 is gone then. A couple went out today. 305 on the range and 303 up to Whidbey. 305 should be 158926, but not sure about 303.
strikeeagle801
The first P-8A was delivered to Whidbey last week. I guess there's two units transferring here from Hawaii, but they will transitioning to the P-8 as well. So, what has been a common sight in the Pacific Northwest for the last 50 years will become a rare one over the next three, and then they will be gone. Aaron

habu2
Those photos remind me of the those of the EP-3E AIRES II (156511) being dismantled on China's Hainan Island several years ago after the mid-air with the Chinese F-8-II...
