Collin
Nice in-flight shot. Looks like a recent transfer jet. Old markings have been painted over with fresh paint and new squadron markings applied: Edited October 30, 2017 by Collin
Collin
A great action shot with a lot of little things to look for. Just a few I see: 1. Touch up paint all around. 2. Hand prints from maint work 3. Leading edge of pylon wear 4. Landing gear really isn't white....more like a cream color toward the tan side (hyd fluid will do that) 5. Peeling tape/panel in front of the canopy 6. Overspray on the non-skid below the canopy. Cheers
Collin
I found these, hope they are not repeats: Someone likes "black-basing": Pull out your panel line washes: Killer at a model contest....inconsistent panel line wash: Lots of touch up's and differing panels: Off white/dirty gear: And finally who doesn't love a little LMAV:

Collin
Lot of good things to pull out of this photo: 1. Differing weathering between front canopy/fuselage area and the main canopy itself. A lot of maint is done on the AC when the canopy is up, so all those grimy hands get on the areas around the canopy, but little on the canopy frame itself. 2. Dirty hand prints and smudging galore around the nose 3. Small drops of touch up paint on the wings 4. Vent holes on the ECS components 5. And for those who go out of there way to weather everything...now you have a reference for inside panel weathering.

Same on Hawkeye. The weathering on the wings is due to the wing fold position on carrier with the exhaust near the wing. SPang
shion
some weathering on CVW-5 birds and a nice front view of a growler.

Don’t think I’ve seen that soot replicated on any E-2 models. What’s a C-2 doing assigned to a VAW squadron?
Collin
VAW-120 is the RAG/FRS in Norfolk. They train aviators and loads on both the E-2 and C-2 TMS. Collin
