ziggyfoos
Two years later than anticipated but finally have the A-4 Skyhawks sheets coming in 1/48. The focus again is on covering Vietnam specific aircraft and like usual with AOA an attempt was to cover a range of markings used by specific squadrons throughout their time in Vietnam. The majority of these schemes have never been done before, and some that have weren't previously done accurately. There will be three parts of "Battle Scooters", with each having 12 or 13 options for A-4C, A-4E, and A-4F Skyhawks. A complete set of data/stencils also is included. $20 each Printed by Cartograf Now available (Dec 28)www.AOAdecals.com Each sheet will come with one full stencil/data sheet, more can be purchased seperately (already available as sheet 48-004) (Click images for larger views) 48-008 (Part 1) 13 options: VMA-223 Bulldogs - seven options: one A-4C and six A-4E from Chu Lai, South Vietnam, spanning betwen 1966-69 VA-106 Gladiators - one A-4E option from USS Intrepid 1968-69 VA-144 Roadrunners - three options: one A-4C from USS Constellation 1964-65, one A-4E from USS Kitty Hawk 1967-68, and one A-4E from USS Bon Homme Richard 1969 VA-216 Black Diamonds - two options: one A-4C from USS Hancock 1964-65 and one A-4C from USS Coral Sea 1968-69 48-009 (Part 2) 13 options: VMA-214 Blacksheep - one A-4C option from Chu Lai, South Vietnam, 1966/67 VMA-311 Tomcats - six options from Chu Lai, South Vietnam, spanning betwen 1966-70 VA-22 Fighting Redcocks - one A-4C option from USS Ranger 1967-68 and two A-4F options from USS Bon Homme Richard 1970 (one CAG, one line scheme) VA-55 Warhorses - three options, one A-4E from USS Ranger 1965-66, one A-4C from USS Constellation 1967, and one A-4F from USS Hancock 1972 48-010 (Part 3) 12 options: VMA-211 Wake Island Avengers - two A-4E options from Chu Lai, South Vietnam betwen 1968-69 VA-36 Roadrunners - one A-4C option from USS Intrepid 1968-69 VA-94 Mighty Shrikes - five options: one A-4C from USS Ranger 1694-65, one A-4E from USS Bon Homme Richard 1968, one A-4E from USS Bon Homme Richard 1969 (CAG scheme), and two A-4E from USS Bon Homme Richard 1970 (one CAG, one line scheme) VA-146 Blue Diamonds - one A-4C from USS Constellation 1964-65 VA-155 Silver Foxes - three options: one A-4E from USS Ranger 1964-65, and two A-4F from USS Ranger 1968-69 Edited December 28, 2016 by ziggyfoos
Ant Phillips
Excellent timing, I've recently picked up a couple of Monogram E/F kits and have struggled to find decent aftermarket decals.
Swordsman422
Awesome! I've been waiting for some -144 and -146 Scooter decals to complete my CVW-14 1965 build. Thanks!

Stefan buysse
Awesome, Steve. I really look forward to getting these. I take it that the VNAF Skyraiders will also be scaled down to 1/48...I've been wanting to do one of those with red devil on the tail. Cheers, Stefan.

Ya that's the plan, probably this winter. Not sure how much interest there is for the VNAF ones though in 1/48 since there's been a few decals already made since the kit is "old" now. madmanrick
Love me some Scooters! My problem comes in, when I start thinking about where in the heck I would display all those dang models. You know what, on second blush...forget that, I'll need one of each sheet.

Jay Chladek
Any thoughts about scaling down to 1/72? A lot of Airfix A-4Cs would benefit from such decals as the pickings are a little meager for Nam A-4C decals.

It's on the to-do list (along with the other 1/72 A-6 sheets too) but I don't have a timeframe for them.
