venom
can anyone recommend a good mini punch for punching out small instrument dials , 48 scale.cutting them out just isn't cutting it lol andrew
ChippyWho
Absolutely. The RP Toolz punch & die set is quite superb. Unfortunately, for 1/48 scale instrument decals you will almost certainly need that and the Big punch & die set also. Not cheap, then, but a very excellent set of equipment and a fine investment. Helmsman
The regular x-acto #1 with fresh blade works just great.
CF104
Here's a direct link to RP Toolz web store with the prices. Punch and die sets are a great investment if you are planning to get into any sort of scratch building. http://rptoolz.unas.hu/en/spl/427615/Punch-and-die-sets Currently I'm using a Waldron WRP035 punch set but I would recommend the RP Toolz sets instead. wdw
I suggest the UMM range of punch and die sets at https://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=punch&x=7&y=8. I am very happy with my mini-set: http://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/product_info.php?products_id=1320.
chukw
Whatever punch you use, protect the decal with some scrap acetate. Something from a bit of packaging will suffice. The clear dics can then be glued over the installed decal with white glue- quite handy!
