We'd gotten approval to do a flyby of the Ike out in the IO (Indian Ocean). It's amazing how well that "Haze Gray" paint works in an environment like the IO. The first visual indication we had of her was seeing the shadows of the overhangs. Trying to imagine who the guys cleaning the dust off on the F-14s on the fantail pissed off… I did just notice (after all these years that the A-6s are still in (partial) Gray over White (looks like the upper surface white has been over sprayed to Light Gull Gray) with the Radome Tan radomes.
