How to paint clear blue on front windscreen?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so quick question: How best to go about painting the transparent blue section of the front windscreen of my F-4? I have Tamiya Clear Blue and I thinned it approximately 3 parts 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to one part paint and brushed it onto the windscreen. However, the paint dried kind of cloudy/foggy, which I attribute to the alcohol thinning agent. Is there another/better way?

91 % alcohol dries  too quickly for a shinny finish. Gunze self leveling lacquer thinner would be far better .

I would also consider mixing it with some Gunze or Tamiya clear .

If possible I would also prefer to airbrush it.

 Cheers, Christian
