gtae07
Hi everyone, I'm joining up because I'm about to get started on a new build for my brother-in-law, but it's been probably 20 years or so since I last built a model (and they were fairly sorry jobs of it, what with all the detail and attention that most 12 year olds have) and most of my recent experience is on a full-scale aircraft (an RV-7). I'm going to be trying to mod the Trumpeter 1/72 CH-47D into an F model and paint it in BIL's unit colors for his birthday. So if y'all have any advice for me I will be very grateful :)
tosouthern66
gtae07 Welcome back to the brotherhood of styrene. As far as tips I suggest you check out the Tools N' Tips threads and also look at the Aircraft threads. There is a Helicopter section there. Also do not be afraid to ask others, there are many good people here that will help you out no matter the level of your abilities as a modeler. falcon20driver
Welcome back. There are some very talented guys to learn from here. I second the Helicopter section. Lots of information and experience there (both in models and actual helicopters). I'd love to see a picture of the RV-7. I can't afford it now but hopefully someday I can build an 8. falcon20driver
That'd be a blast. My Dad retires in a year or so and this is a project I'd love to do with him.
