falcon20driver
Ok, for my entry in the Helicopter Group Build I'll be using the 1/48 Sea King from Hasegawa. I will probably fold the rotors for display space but that hasn't been finalized. Decals are still undecided as of yet. I do have a little display base idea that I will add to the helicopter. I did a little cockpit work prior to heading out and will get that posted later. Hopefully I can get the interior all buttoned up next time I'm home.
falcon20driver
Alright... First thing I did was a quick tape up of the fuselage. I always do that for inspiration as well as to satisfy my curiosity of basic fit and size. Fit looks really good. I decided to build up the major cockpit components before paint. I may regret this but I think it will work well here. Then I laid down a base grey. That's all for now. Hopefully I'll get some updates done next week. I'm really excited about this one! Pappy121
I find it hard to believe that after all this time there is still little aftermarket stuff for the cabin. Most of the interior PE stuff is for the forward bulkhead and step area. Nice start , cheers, Pappy
falcon20driver
Yes, unfortunately there's nothing back there at all. I needed a fun easy build, so this will be all closed up to hide the empty cabin.

falcon20driver
You know it! I have 3 other MASSIVE builds (1/32 109, Su-27, and B-17), so you can bet this is gonna be OOB and relaxing.
midnightprowler
Looking good so far.
falcon20driver
Back home but not much to report. I grabbed some pieces to paint black while I was painting my Thunderbolt. I hope to spend time tomorrow detail painting the cockpit. My goal is to have the fuselage halves together by the time I headid back to work.
falcon20driver
Cockpit painting progressing... It's not 100% accurate but it looks the part.
falcon20driver
I got more time at the bench this morning than I was anticipating. Fuselage halves are together, Then I threw on the canopy to see how she looks.

B-ONE27
Off to a nice start Falcon20, office is looking fantastic!!
Ichitoe
Looks like the T-Bolt is on it's legs. Which kit is it? Did you use Tamiya Extra Thin Cement to attach to windows on the Sea King? Always liked the looks of the Sea King, may have to do one for this GB. Mike
falcon20driver
The gear was just dry fit, but she's coming along. 1/32 Trumpeter. The canopy on the Sea King was only dry fit, but the windows are glued in. I use Tamiya extra thing if I can on the windows.
falcon20driver
Today's item of business is the top engine area. Unfortunately this section is made up of a number of parts that fit ok, but not as well as I'd like. So, sanding time....
tobiK
Wow, you make progress second to Phantom! But I like how you do it, even oob you make a clean job.
phantom
Well, the Sea King is a much bigger and much more complicated build then a tiny Jet Ranger.
falcon20driver
Thanks guys. It's not a horribly complicated kit as long as you dry fit and not rush. It'll slow down a bit now that I'm cleaning some panels and painting my Jug. For my first helicopter, I'm finding it to be quite enjoyable. I may just need to build another one
falcon20driver
I made her sea worthy this morning. I'm waiting for the glue to dry then I'll clean the edges and keep cleaning the top parts too.
Winnie
Nice progress!! Gotta love the King!
