john53
Here's my other dark side build. The Enterprise TOS. I am at the point now where the saucer is built, painted, and decaled. I am now getting ready to mask the hull-warp nacells assembly for paint. I have the saucer painted Tamiya spray AS-20 insignia white. Here's some construction pics.---John OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr Enterprise 6 by jvandeu53, on Flickr OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr
john53
Here is the hull-warp nacelle assembly ready for masking. It will be masked sometime this week, still have more decaling on Klingon D7 first.---John OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr Edited January 2, 2017 by john53
Major Walt
TOS was always my favorite series as was the original Enterprise! Good job! I'm a Trekkie for life...
phantom
Are not these nice simple low parts counts kits fun!!! Looks good.
john53
Thanks. I am sorta a Trekkie too. I was 13 years old when the show aired in 1966. As far as I am concerned Spock, Scotty, Bones and Uhura made the show. I never was crazy about Kirk's love affairs, was the T for Testosterone? Actually the best show was TNG with Picard. I didn't care for the looks of the D, the best Enterprise was the refit from the first movie in 1979. JMO---John
Trojan Thunder
Nice work John, built this one a few years ago and went with the stickers rather than decals when I built mine. Looks like you are using as much putty on yours as I did on mine!
john53
Thanks. I just masked and painted the hull-warp engine assembly Tamiya Insignia White. After it's set up i will unmask and do the detail painting.---John Enterprise 17 by jvandeu53, on Flickr

phantom
Oh, I like it. Red behind the deflector seems off, but it LOOKS really neat. I just checked my old one , did it black. But after all it IS science FICTION.

phantom
John, my comment is NOT at all a criticism, I said I liked it!!! It looks really neat. Who is to say what colour is right on a science FICTION build? Don't get discouraged keep at it. If you took my comment as harsh I apologize, but it was NOT meant that away at all. Moving on, that copper dish is really cool. Mine came out far too flat, did your dry brush black or use a wash for that neat effect? Also looking at the tiny area this shot shows your weathering is looking just like the re-furbished Enterprise at the Smithsonian!
Trojan Thunder
Nice progress John, agree with Shaun, the deflector dish paintwork looks great
