A-10 distortion

Recommended Posts

C'mon people, it's distortion.

Station's 1 and 11 can get bombs on them, it's a pain in the butt being up kinda high but, it can be done. Strange seeing no DRA with an AIM-9 on 11 however. I guess there are no air threats that they are worried about.

I read about this in AW&ST.  All A-10's are being mod'ed to be able to make right handed orbits with no pilot input.  They are also mounting the cannon sideways so the Hog can perform gunship type strafing runs.  Gonna revolutionize CAS.  Brrrrrtt!

That is not distortion.  That Hog has been through Boeing's re-wing program.

However, due to budget cuts they are only doing one wing at a time.

In this case the port wing is the new one......

Either it's the result of distortion looking thru the boom operator's window or someone put a 1/48 wing on a 1/72 A-10:

also note the GBU-12 on the outer pylon.

It's the left turn set up for normal tracks. Road course ones are balanced. lol

It´s the new aeroelastic tailored composite wing. It senses the asymmetric load and reconfigures to maintain a neutral roll trim.
It is featured in the DCS A-10 simulator, but has to be activated in the settings menu.
