craigcol
Anyone know what Hasegawa 1/72 F-15D boxing is recessed or raised? I see that https://hlj.com/product/HSGD5 is raised, any aidea about box 00435? Thanks in adnace!
fasteagle12
I'm pretty sure that the kit is the 'old tool' that came with raised panel lines. Edited January 23, 2017 by fasteagle12

It's the same kit. 00435 is the numerical product code; D5 is Hasegawa's series code*. So that kit *is* 00435, and it has raised panel lines. http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=HSG 00435 *Hasegawa groups their kits into different series, with each kit getting a different alphanumeric code. Egg Planes are EW__; limited edition kits are typically SP__; 1/48 jets are PT__; 1/72 props are JT__ The recessed panel line F-15 are in the E series, so you would want E39, or one of its many limited edition reboxings. Lancer512
The Hasegawa Eagle kits with the separate cockpit section are the new tool kits with recessed panellines. It is best to find a picture of the sprues of any particular kit, as I've been fooled more than once by new boxes and new kit numbers. The Strike Eagle Demonstrator kit E10 for example, has raised lines. Edited January 23, 2017 by Lancer512

craigcol
Has anyone had much experience with the Academy F-15D kit? Particularly against the Hasegawa kit? The online reviews seem favorable
Lancer512
I can only speak for the Academy F-15C, which appears to be a copy of the old Hasegawa kit, but with recessed panel lines. That said, I prefer the Academy kit over the old Hasegawa F-15s, but the detail is softer and not as crisp as Hasegawa's new tool kit.
