Snowbird3a
While things are drying on my current 1/700 CV-16 Lexington project (where there is no WIP), I thought I would start to convert my Airfix SeaKing to a Canadian CH-124A. I have a Belcher 'Gulf War' mod kit and some Belcher decals and an Eduard exterior PE set. Comments most welcome as I am not a SeaKing expert, by any means.
Snowbird3a
Wow, has it been that long since I started this. Anyway since PhotoBucket had a cow, here is most of the WIP pics up til today. I have been displaying WIP pics on the Facebook page as well http://i.imgur.com/mwER1Pz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kBNA8xx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0ct9ijC.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ekMhMZY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UPSSNpH.jpg Edited December 18, 2017 by Snowbird3a
scorvi
Looking good. How is the NEW Airfix Sea King...Better than the Dragon kit?? How about for an early one with the smaller sponson...better than Fujimi in 1/72?? Steve,
Snowbird3a
I am no subject matter expert on the Seaking, however, miles better than the Fujimi kit, although my Fujimis sit in the stash, unbuilt. I have never seen the Dragon kit, so can't comment on it. The Airfix kit goes together well and haven't come across too many fit issues, most of my battles have been the conversion aspects to a Canadian machine. Tony
Hajo L.
I think the Airfix kit is a bit better fitting wise, although it´s quite sparse on the outside surface details. No rivets, just a few panel lines. But I enjoyed building both! HAJO
Joel_W
I've never built a Helo in all the years I've been modeling, so I can only comment on the workmanship that I see, and your work is excellent. Nicely preshaded over the primer. Looking forward to your next update with some final colors on the skin. Joel
