scotthldr
finally, been wanting someone to do this for years. One of the subjects I requested last year when they were asking for suggestions. Once again https://flic.kr/p/yGRfsm Edited February 1, 2017 by scotthldr
DonSS3
I did one of the 1/72 Fujimi AB.212ASWs a couple of decades ago in the Gray and Red scheme. Looking forward to seeing this one.
KursadA
Great news, although I have to wonder what took them this long.
salvador001
Guys, dont be so happy, i bet this is the same old moulds from their 212/UH-1N kits. It will have only new parts for the radar and antennas. So sad... Rod.
scotthldr
No doubt it will be the old moulds, but until now you couldn't build an ASW version without a lot of scratch building, blood, sweat and tears. So I'm happier than I was this morning.
torchf4
Yep definitely happy news! And the Chinook is back too! Looking forward to finally getting one!
skyhawk174
Well I am happy to see this even though I am pretty sure that it is a re-box with added parts. I had started to gather the info on the mods required to do the AB-212 when they issued the UH-1N so this just saved me a bunch of work. Still have to find some interesting schemes instead of the overall blue and white. Any camo versions out there? Edited February 2, 2017 by skyhawk174
scotthldr
Italy, Peru and Turkey operated them in a Engine Grey/Red scheme before going "low viz" http://www.air-passion.be/fas/engine/albums/reports/Turkey 2005 - Topel/LTBQ050506_01_AB_212ASW_TCB-41_DK_01.jpg The Iranians probably have the most interesting scheme though http://www.airliners.net/photos/airliners/4/1/1/1847114.jpg
KursadA
The kit seems to come with Italian and Spanish markings. I will definitely consider making decals for any Italian schemes not covered by kit decals, Turkey, Iran, Venezuela and Greece.

Was hoping you may say that, the original Engine Grey with high viz markings would particularly go down well here.
CharlieUH-1H
Great news! also I can see downthere AB206 1/48 No more hour long search on ebay for this one! :)
K5054NZ
I hope they do the AB206 right - no Kiowa windows like in the 1/72 one, please!
hawkwrench
I like the Kiowa they're coming out with. Would love to see a new tooled Kiowa in 1/35 scale though. Tim

A, despite its age, very fine kit imho. Only parts that would probably be incorrect nowadays, could be the windows that on the newer 206's bulge outward, and the landing gear: on newer JetRangers, the skids are longer and the overall landing gear a bit sturdier. K5054NZ
So the Esci JetRanger has 206 windows rather than OH-58 windows?

K5054NZ
This makes me so happy! Is the rotor mast the correct height? All the Esci photos I've seen show it to be really squat. Edited February 10, 2017 by K5054NZ

Lengthening the mast or mounting it a tad higher would be possible without too much of a hassle I would think.
Emvar
Does it come with all the UH-1N parts?
twong
Italeri changed the weapons sprues through the different versions they released. The original Italeri 1/48 UH-1N #847 has the miniguns and rocket pods. The Heller kit #80413 is the same as the Italeri kit #847. .https://www.scalemates.com/kits/233306-italeri-847-uh-1n-twin-huey-gunship http://www.scale-rotors.com/kit/artikel.php?id=3311 Italeri later rereleased the UH-1N as the AB-212/UH-1N #2692 and changed the weapons sprues. Different guns are included and they eliminated the rocket pods . https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/it/kit_it_2692.shtml You will have the basic AB-212/UH-1N from the ASW version. Just leave off the ASW parts. Probably no weapons though that were in their previous versions.
