Aichi D3A1 Val (Fujimi 1/72)

Way nicer than I can do, but, since this is the critic's corner and I'm allowed...I'd have used a lighter colored wash in the panel lines. I mix a color just a little darker than the actual paint. But like I said, it's a better model than I can hope to accomplish. I especially like the "in flight" photos!! The weathering on the cowling is really nice too.

Nice work.  I like that you didn't go overboard with the weathering.  The PH strike aircraft were fairly new, clean and very well-maintained, but many modelers insist on making them filthy and beaten up.

 

how did you do the folded aft canopy sections?

I cut the last two sections. I replaced the overhead one with a piece of foil. I sanded and polished inside the front and rear part of the canopy to make them thin enough to fit one inside another. Frames are made of decal stripes.
