Bob Beary
On the painting diagram page of the model's instructions it says that the dimensions have been reduced to 90% in side view and reduced to 60% in top/bottom view. How do I figure out how to print them in full size...i.e. so that the printed results will be the same size as the actual model? Thanks, Bob
dnl42
If it was reduced by 50%, you would double it, or scale by 200%. Right? A 90% reduction ratio needs to be scaled up by 111% A 60% reduction ratio needs to be scaled up by 167% To get the scale ratio in percent, divide 100 by the percent reduction converted to a fraction, so, 100/0.9 and 100/0.
Bob Beary
Thank you sir! That's exactly what I was looking for. Interesting collection of models there. Bob
pigsty
Those ratios sound like what Hasegawa put on their instructions. If they are, beware. They generally say something like "reduced by 60%" when they actually mean "reduced to 60%". It's very unlikely that instructions would be reduced by 90%, since they'd be only a tenth the size of the model and not much help to you.
Bob Beary
That's why I phrased it as I did. But a good heads up for other readers. Bob
Snowbird3a
best measure the model and measure the printed plan. That will give you an accurate ratio. cheers, Tony
