Metodi Metodiev
Hello everyone. In my latest video tutorial you will see how I mask and paint the canopies of my scale models using DIY masks made of masking tape. You will also see the visual impact painting from the inside as well as from the outside have on the appearance of a plastic scale model. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe to my channel. Best regards M.
Crazy Snap Captain
Nice! Thanks for posting. Quick question; why do you use masking liquid instead of just cutting the tape to shape and using this? Does it have to do with the curvature or the canopy?

TheRealMrEd
Thanks so much for posting this! Haven't tried it for masking inside canopy frames yet, but just gave it a go on masking a vacuformed copy of a canopy, where the framework wasn't great. Drew the masks off the original, and transferred them to the vacuform copy. They fit perfectly. A most useful tip. FWIW, I used Tamiya Masking tape -- any better suggestions out there? Metodi Metodiev
Hi, thanks for your interest and comments. Quote Crazy Snap Captain I just find this way faster and easier. Yes the curved shape makes it more difficult for the tape to conform... at least for me :) Quote TheRealMrEd I have never used it but since It is regarded as the best tape by so many modelers there might be a reason. :) Best regards M.
