thegoodsgt
With the start of a new year I see that many of you actively advertise your local contests here on ARC and other forums, and that’s good thing. I’m a big fan of attending — and entering — contests. Here are some ideas for ensuring that you’re getting the word out and making it easy for people to attend. LINK The one suggestion I want to highlight here is making sure that you include your state (or province or country) to the subject line so that local readers will quickly see that your contest is nearby. For example, if I were promoting a contest with this subject line: ViperCon 2017 March 15, 2017 You’d have no idea if it were 10 miles or 2,000 miles from your home. But if I included the state, local modelers might be more inclined to click into the discussion to learn more. (BTW, ViperCon is purely fictitious.) I’m eager to hear other ideas from those of you who run successful contests. Steven Brown Scale Model Soup
