Guten tag! This is what I'm getting ready for this G.B.

It will be an OOB build except for the decals. I'm not digging the scheme that comes in the box and would like to do something else. Looking now for some options. Happy to take recommendations if you have any. Anyway...away we go!!!!

You go with the most accurate quarterscale "toni" but also over?engineered and challenging kit. AFAIK it is not for beginners. Look for WIPs to get info how to master difficult sections. Good luck!!

i'll follow your build with great interest as i'll use the same kit for this GB.

i'll do a Jabog32 Tornado IDS in Norm83 scheme (another member plan to do a 1/32 with the Norm83 for this GB... just sayin...)

First check official price on his website. Hahen is accurate and good stuff! If your bid will not hit, you can order direct or I organize it for you. If you like some resin: cmk make wheel wells, cockpit, etc...very good casting!

Thanks Tobi! The auction finishes on Monday morning, so far good price. I'm avoiding resin for the moment as I want to refocus on some essentials. The only thing I may get is some seats and maybe a pitot tube. Thanks again for the tips and your generosity mate. MUCH appreciated!

Project has stalled a little bit as I wait for some Eduard Interior detail parts to arrive. The kit cockpit details are a tad underwhelming especially the side panels. I tried a number of techniques to get the details to show up adequately enough to no avail, so I'm getting the Eduard self adhesive set to jazz up the office a bit.

In the meantime I started on some of the weapons stores and realised I know nothing about Tornado weapons or underwing stores. The Revell instructions (don't go there) are of no real help either. I googled the BOZ-101 pod so I sorta know what that's all about, but I was expecting bombs and lots of them considering its a strike aircraft. Is the kit doing a Hasegawa on us and not providing weapons? The only thing I can confidently ID are the two sidewinders. What would a Tornado usually cary on a typical strike mission?

I m not too familiar with toni loafings but you always 2 underwing tanks. Some have agm 88 harm loaded (ecr maybe?). Other option is a tanker for buddy-buddy.

Here are a few toni pics:

Or Matra 25 bombs:

Early Luftwaffe tonis could have the Hunting Eng. BL755 cluster bombs.  But meanwhile banned weapons.

Also certain squadrons have tornados prepared for strike role. Means: they are prepared to carry tact. Nukes from the USA. USA owns the bombs and german Luftwaffe has to do the delivery. Not sure if every modeller feel comfy with that ethical topic?

When i am not wrong, it is the recce pod used from AG 52 tonis. See Scott's build. He will make a recce Toni.

For MW 1:  just ask, maybe someone did not use it building HB ids Tornado. To get sure, check the HB instruction on that japanese hobby shop site. I can not look in my HB kits as i am chilling here in Ubud and wait for lunch to be served. ;-)
