peter havriluk
Moving right along with my shelf models: Airfix painting instructions for their 1/72 Hellcat decorated for the Royal Navy states that the airframe is colored 'Oxford blue'. I looked around as best I could and I can't find any color images or comments as to which MM or Tamiya paints would be a reasonable substitution. Can anybody help? I'd love to know what 'Oxford blue' looks like and on a good day, what can emulate it. Thanks very much.
DonSS3
I think Xtracolour has this in their range. I can't think of what a good MM substitute would be.
peter havriluk
Thanks for the leads, folks. Following up got me to a listing for 'Oxford Blue' acrylic by Vallejo, and that's on order right now. Got what I wanted, thanks to your help. Much obliged.
Grey Beema
Oxford Blue? As far as I am aware in '45 FAA Hellcats were either in Temperate Sea Scheme (Extra Dark Sea Grey, Dark Slate Grey & Sky (or US equivalents)) or Gloss Sea Blue (USN Colour). I don't recall seeing any in Oxford Blue. I have seen images of an Admirals Barge in Oxford Blue but that was a Beech 18 Edited April 17, 2017 by Grey Beema

I think Oxford Blue is the color I need for my (someday) Aeronavale Lancaster.
