Su-33 Flanker D // Zvezda // 1:72

Recommended Posts

I would like to present you my latest model: Su-33 Flanker D made of Zvezda kit.
The kit is really nice: perfect fitted, with nice details, but with few minor issues (coarse surface on engine cowlings, wide and shallow panel lines etc.).

Generally work was just a real fun.

This model was commission build, so I had to prepare the stand on my own.

I used board from carpenter, then I painted it, prepared masks for text, painted it, and then inserted plexi rods, curved in boiling water.

For this Su-33 I used Gunze, Tamiya, Alclad and Mr. Paint paints, no additional afetrmaked have been used.

Enjoy.

There were so many steps.

Generally I used light metallic background, few oil colours and all Alclad's hot metal paints, also the same from Mr. Paint pallet.

Then I used such paints as Alclad magnesium, steel, sepia, jet exhaust and even colour pencils. It took me over one week to achieve those effects.
