KursadA
I have just finished the basic UH-1 marking infrastructure (scaled drawings etc.), so I am ready to do some UH-1 sheets for the incoming Kitty Hawk kit. I will do a Vietnam era sheet for sure, but I need your suggestions for other USAF/USN/USMC subjects, international Hueys, etc.
gb_madcat_sl
Any chance you'll do Singapore Hueys? There are 2 examples at the RSAF museum so I'll be able to get references. Mark
Dutch
Kursad, Here are some suggestions for Bell 204, Bell 205, Bell 212 .
thegoodsgt
I’d suggest an old timey USAF H model. http://www.aviationphotocompany.com/p934046062/h73a548dc#h73a548dchttp://www.aviationphotocompany.com/p52222722/h178A2675#h178a2675 Steven Brown Scale Model Soup
82Whitey51
I'm guessing this sheet is for "D" models...but if there's room for any Marine Corps "E" models with some color... image hosting site no sign up photo upload img upload
thegoodsgt
Whitey, you're right. I just realized the new kit will be a D. P.S. That red E model does something for me! Edited March 30, 2017 by thegoodsgt
KursadA
That red one is indeed awesome - who makes a suitable short-fuselage UH-1 in 1/48?

That red E model does something for me! Oh yeah, I'm doing that one regardless...pretty simple and will definitely stand out. Looks like a faded out "YUMA" on the tail. The others are HML-771 USMCR birds out of the old NAS S. Weymouth MA. I have two old Monogram kits (the No. 5202 kit) kicking around so...

The Monogram Huey Hog kit is about the only game in town. Fujimi and Lindberg did a 1/48 UH-1B also but not as well detailed. Cobra Company/Lone Star Models does a UH-1C correction set that has the wider tail, and larger tail planes. Monogram also released a "Huey Chopper" (Kit 5202) version that is a little harder to find. It is essentially the same kit, but with the roof panel replaced with a version that has the hoist and hoist motor housing; Edit: I forgot, Hobbyboss recently released a UH-1C as well... print screen windows xp image search Edited March 30, 2017 by 82Whitey51
thegoodsgt
At the rate we're getting new kits these days it's not hard to imagine a new-tool UH-1 series in 1/48 scale within the next few years. The helicopter has seen enough service around the world that it would have immediate appeal across multiple markets. Pray to whatever god(s) you believe in. :)
tobiK
What about an JSGDF UH-1J? AFAIK never done as a kit nor as decals! And sooooo stunning camo!!! (Almost best ever...!?) Here one on Airliners.net. I think due to copyright regulations I should not post the pic here directly!?
Koen L
Maybe a Thai Huey in the blue/grey scheme? The camouflaged Department of State birds used in Afghanistan looked quite nice as well. Pete
How about an Air America one? They did some interesting stuff in the day. One even got into a fight with some An-2's. Some info here
Bushpounder
I hope someone gets into the detail parts business. I was ready to order some side guns for the Huey from Cobra, and they closed up. :( Anyone hear anything or know of anyone else who makes the side guns? Thanks!!
