Can't get much simpler, I think, even if Google Photos finally allows linking. I tried creating a Shared Album, but don't know if that works. Here's a test:   Image appears in this post on my computer in Chrome.  EDIT: I just tried viewing this post in Firefox, and it works ... so your "hint" was  the key (if indeed it works).
