F4DPhantomII
Just got the Airfix 1/48 kit. Any current color matches in bottle for P-40B cockpits?
DonSS3
If it is Dull Dark Green (DDG) or Bronze Green, FS 34092 (European I Do Green) is supposed to be a good match. This color can be found in many model paint ranges. If it's Interior Green (FS34151) there are a number of good matches out there as well.
dnl42
White Ensign Colurcoat Enamels carried both DDG (ACUS24) and BG (ACUS30). Looks like these are once again available, from Sovereign Hobbies...
Steve N
I don't think Curtiss used DDG or BG. They used their own variation of Tinted Zinc Chromate in cockpits..any of the off-the-shelf U.S. Interior Greens would probably suffice for modeling purposes. SN
K5054NZ
I used Tamiya XF-71 Cockpit Green (IJN) as it matches the restored version I modelled.
DonSS3
I couldn't remember whether they used DDG or not, I just added that to cover my bases… Edited May 1, 2017 by DonSS3 Typos
Murph
Check out this article LINK Dull Dark Green and Bronze Green are not the same color; DDG is lighter, with a blue-green tint to it, while BG was darker and semi-gloss. Approximate modern day FS matches are FS 34151 for Interior Green, FS 34092 for Dull Dark Green, and FS 34052 for Bronze Green. Regards, Murph
