Ranger74
Great job on the build of the Formaplane C-7. Its STOL capabilities were amazing. As a kid in the 60's I watched a TV program where a C-7 landed on a football field inside a college stadium. The goal posts (the old short posts, not the newer tall posts) were at the back edge of both end zones and the top rim of the stadium was about 50% taller than the goal posts, and the C-7 was empty. I can't remember if they took off, but I think they had to to get the plane out of the stadium!
RCAFFAN
How about the "son" (a Buffalo) landing/takeoff on a ball diamond:
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Neat video, but even more so a fantastic build of that Caribou!!
MacStingy
Well done with the Caribou build. Always nice to see one of these. This is what they built when my father worked at DeHavilland in the Downsview plant.
ChesshireCat
The gravel airstrip at A102 was just long enough for a C130, but even then it barely cleared the tree line on take off. A C7 did it with ease! Plus the C7 did pallet drops easier that a C130. We needed 300 more feet of runway. Gary
