Sea Vixen wheels up landing at Yeovilton today

Recommended Posts

Glad the pilot is safe and well.

It seems I am fated to not seeing the Sea Vixen fly......

I went to Yeovilton with a friend from the Fly Navy supporters club - just to see it fly as advertised.

But it went 'tech' and did not take to the air........:crying:

No matter - I'll see it at the Shuttleworth 'Fly Navy' show in June.. http://www.shuttleworth.org/whats-on/

Oh well....... :crying:

Hi Ken/all,

I was at Duxford to see this display, and didn't know what had happened until I got home. The Sea Vixen seems to get a lot of bad luck, and this was the first time I'd seen it fly since it left Red Bull and that colour scheme in 2007. Beautiful aircraft and well flown at Duxford yesterday, just a terrible shame, although obviously glad that the pilot is fine.

Hope I'm not rubbing it in Ken, but here's a couple of pics from yesterday afternoon.

I was told a long time ago that there were two types of people flying aircraft with retractable landing gear - those who have bellied one in and those who are going to belly one in!
