Space Tiger Hobbes
I want to get a metal pitot for my 1/48 F-5E. USN or USAF markings at this point. The seller lists 2 types - C and K. Which is correct? Thanks.
RichB63
STH, There were two different noses fitted to the F-5E: ...the older "standard" (radar friendly) style with a longer pitot probe (K) ...and the newer (more aerodynamic) "shark nose" with a short probe (C) Hope this helps, Rich Edited May 31, 2017 by RichB63
Space Tiger Hobbes
Thanks very much. Why why why manufacturers and retailers don't include such information is a mystery to me.
gb_madcat_sl
The same reason why they don't tell you the differences between the various F-14 and F-16 blocks or F/A-18 lots. Self-research is part of the hobby and can be fun when you uncover interesting details about the model you are building. Mark
Space Tiger Hobbes
Well, I think some, such as Steel Beach, provide information like "F-14B upgrade." I just think some companies don't know how to market their products or don't want to go to the trouble. They don't care if you know what version fits what vehicle. If they thought about it, they'd think, "I might sell more and make more money if I told modelers how to use my product." IMO...
