Ray they always had the yellow tips on the blades..? I am out of yellow paint.

ALWAYS is not a word I would ever use to describe any aspect of Vietnam Hueys.  However, they USUALLY had the 6 inch yellow tip on the blades.  there was also some experimentation with a single all white blade on top or alternating black and white bands.  One thing I would do is paint the tail rotor with red/white stripes since this would have been an early medevac even as a What If.

In this case I would go with 12" white tips. I think would good. That way if you want to repaint later you already have the base coat ready to go. The other 6" can be covered over easy enough with the blade color.
