my favs are F`s
... And how it looks with all painted, wired up, HUD and pilot glued, and with the canopy testfited: The canopy is quite tinted in black, so not that much is visible from inside. I`m gonna glue it permanently closed and will try to glue it as later as possible, cause i`m affraid of dust particles and other traces from the inner side. But so far so good :)
Aigore
Quote Looking mighty fine! :D
my favs are F`s
Finally ready for painting. Enjoy the colors underneath. Now some masking of the transparent parts, and Mr. Surfacer 1200 is just around the corner...

my favs are F`s
10x Captain! If all goes well, it will be one of a kind :) I`ve never seen a proper mod of F-23 with all the changes required. Btw i got inspired to post some pics of the YF-23 fuselage and the F as of now, just for fun, for comparison:
Mstor
Amazing the differences between the two. A complete redesign, so I hear. I think it looks better than the YF and you have certainly done an amazing job representing it. Excellent!
Aigore
Wow....That's effing outstanding! :D
my favs are F`s
Thx guys! I just finished scribing the RAM patterns as on the concept image a few posts before. Then another thin coat of Surfacer 1500 is added, and, check it out: Edited May 2, 2018 by my favs are F`s
my favs are F`s
The sides and the bottom: And these are the templates i used for the scribing of the lines. Just simple thin stretches of transparent plastic with straight lines and 2 flavors of zig-zag patterns:
Mstor
Wow, that's amazing work. The scribing so subtle and consistent. This build is just exceptional.
Griffin
Yep, hard to believe it's all done the old fashion way: just 2 trusty hands and talent....... modeling at it's best !

my favs are F`s
And after the Dark Aluminium.
my favs are F`s
And the beautiful patterns on the top: I think i need to enjoy it a couple of days like that, and then i'will think about the camo... 🙂
Aigore
nice looking sheen, are the aluminium colors bases for a have glass like paint job?
my favs are F`s
10x Aigore! Yep absolutely. At least that's my approach for have glass - shine underneath and transparent coats of paint on top. These are the metalizers i used: And i plan on doing some sort of a more metalic vision - where the camo is just barely noticeable, something like that:
Aigore
I love the patina on Raptors now days... I've been thinking of only using metal paints, even for the cammo and then coat with future/klear with a few drops of grey and then a flat coat. I haven't experimented with it yet tho. Alclad holografic paint lightly dusted on the canopy and then a polish gives a nice effect and a very light gold or copper coat to mimic the stealth coating.
my favs are F`s
Check out the camo. I think i like it. The goal was to replicate the camo of the F-22 as much as i can, but actually i eyeballed the colors - concoctions of 3-4 paints per color. First the inner patterns were applied and the outer color was sprayed, like that: Then i applied the negative cutouts of the templates and sprayed the darker color, then a thick glossy coat, and enjoy:
Falconxlvi
Wow! The paint looks incredible- well done!
