MA Cooke
As disappointed as I was that the Thunderbirds cancelled Saturday AND Sunday, I had already bought my ticket and decided to go on Sunday. The weather was almost perfect - a few spotty clouds, and a tad windy, but otherwise it was awesome (73 F, dry). The T-50 did a short demo, as did the F-35 Lightning (after the Heritage Flight with the P-51D), and of course, the Super Bug. I also wanted to try my new lens out, Nikon's 200-400mm f4 VR (the first version). I learned that shooting on a monopod at aerial performances is not as easy as I thought - not without a gimble. So I shot hand-held, and my arm and shoulders are still achy. Hope you enjoy my selection of pics. Rob Holland put on an excellent show. As did Redline. And Rob Freeman. A brief "zoom-n-boom" by the T-50. And the incomparable Sean Tucker. P-51D "Fragile but Agile" The F-35, just after take-off, before forming up with the Mustang. Much-anticipated Heritage Flight The F-35 was impressive. A final pass after the Heritage Flight Rhino rolling The Rhino did a simulated bolter with a dirty climb-out. We get it...you vape. Moose135
Nice work! 29 minutes ago, MA Cooke said: Thanks FAR. But, my shoulder and neck ached like crazy on the way home. You need to do it more, you'll build up those muscles. Take a look at the Optech camera straps, they have a little stretch in them, and help save you when the camera is hanging around your neck or shoulder. I shoot with the Canon 100-400, and I always handhold for air shows.

Djack
Cool to see the T-50 in action. It'll be interesting to see who wins that competition. Thanks for sharing your pictures. David
