Posting pics using Image Shack

Recommended Posts

For those that use Image Shack, what size picture do you use to post to the forums ? Full size seems to be too much.

In my experience, most forums work best if images are posted using the 800X600 size or some variation of that.

there are three main factors that come into play on what resolution is best for posting images on an 3rd party hosting site that in this case we see here on ARC.

1- The largest resolution that the service will allow for uploading. Today the resolutions are much greater then previously. Old school max was 1024x768.

2- The largest resolution that the forum/site allows for any number of reasons with bandwidth monthly restrictions/caps/over charges from their hosting site being the major factors.

3- the monitor specifications of the end user. the newer the monitor, the higher the recommended resolution is. Higher resolution means a smaller, more detailed image, as the diagonal measurement of the newer screens are that much larger. And the newer computers overall specs and hardware are so much better then older models.
