ALL THE STRIPES!!!

In looking it over (and I may be overthinking / overanalyzing), I think the decision was made to scale the stripes with the stars. If they roughly doubled the size of the stripes, the stars would look too small.  It's personally a little too busy for me and I don't like designs that end abruptly at the radome, but it is certainly striking and I figured someone might be interested....

Yeah, I am not into commemorative one-offs.  I don't even like Wing Kings or CAGs birds all dolled up.  I prefer line jets.  But that is just me.  Your mileage may vary.  😁

How about some Finnish Air Force F/A-18s, the subject has hardly ever been done, there markings are very limited, but they have a couple of jets with a really nice tail art, they had a demo at RIAT a few days ago. Ive seen pictures of at least 2 jets sporting these.

Well, putting all those Teen Fighters Early years + Hogs etc. already available, downscaled onto one 144 Scale sheet..that is something I would be all over....

Should not be too much of a hassle as there is not really anything that needs to be fitted to a special kit.

And then dark vipers, next gen eagles, SEA- anniversary birds, Aggresors..more or less anything in 144 😉

I second Stu's comment about making a multi-topic 1/144 "Early Years" sheet. You may not be able to fit all the early years sheets onto one 1/144 sheet, but possibly two aircraft per sheet: F-14 & F-15 on one sheet, then F-16 & F/A-18 on a second.  That way, you have an Air Force and Navy aircraft per sheet. And there are multiple kits available that would be easily backdated to the prototypes.  My thoughts.

Kind regards,

Dutch

While on the topic of colorful Chinese jets: Those Sudanese JL-9/FTC-2000 markings looks especially cool imo

They managed to make the Mig-21 attractive, yes there is a Mig-21 in there somewhere.

But no 1/72 boxes available for the two seater.

That's a B, right? No D models yet in 1976.

Correct, it's F-15B 71-0291, unless there was more than one bicentennial scheme which I highly doubt. It later did duty as the prototype for the E model...as disturbing as that is considering the design team literally said "not a pound for air to ground". The A and C are the pure form of the FX concept, the others (E and EX) are from too many fingers in the pie and the reason they work so well is only due to the high standard of the original concept.

@KursadA,

If you ever do another KC-135R sheet, how about some MacDill 6th AMW love?

And some Meta (now Metrea) Aerospace love? [Side note: My former employer was bought by Metrea late last year.] Here is N569MA.

@KursadA I know you've been busy lately but wondering if you have any updates on the release of the 1/72 F-105D sheet.  Also, curious about the status of CD 72072 Sikorsky H-34 sheet.  I have a H-34 in my stash just begging to be built in USAF rescue markings.
