hawkwrench
This station is used around various Army Airfields. They sit on the flightline in between aircraft and are a place where someone can dispose of any FOD they find as well as it serves as a storage for fuel samples that aircrews pull as part of their preflight. This will be part of a diorama involving a TH-67 Creek sitting on the flightline down at Ft. Rucker. Here's a pic of what my diorama will sort of look like, but a little different. More build pics to follow. Tim Edited August 11, 2017 by hawkwrench
hawkwrench
Here's the beginning of the station. I scaled down the actual measurements in 1/32 scale and it came out to be 24mm square base, 24 mm for the sides, and 12mm square for the lid. I used .020 sheet styrene for the base and used 4.8 mm I-beam strip for the middle support. I then glued a 12 mm square piece of .040 to the top. Comments welcome! hawkwrench
Here's the rough shape. Just a little bit more sanding to do and it will be ready for the little fiddily bits (handle, lock and vent louvers). Until next time! C&C welcome! Tim

hawkwrench
Applied resin louvers and some rivets to the top cover tonight. Those resin decal louvers are the cat's meow! Tim
