mongo
1. On what model P-47D did the cockpit floor go from corrugated to flat sheet metal? I *think* I've narrowed it to the runs D-25RE & RA to the D-30RE & RA, but cannot nail it down further. 2. Were the Hamilton-Standard and Curtiss Electric props interchangeable on the later Ds. My sources indicate that the D-25RE and D-27RE blocks came came with Ham-Stan props "standard" (standard..., get it, STANDARD...? I crack myself up!). All blocks of the bubbletop D had the R-2800-59 motor that turned all three different props listed for the Ds depending on the block and plant. Were there any obscure and not-readily visible features specific to the type of prop that would have to b e installed/removed to accommodate a different prop? Thanks for any insight you can offer. greatgonzo
The props were interchangeable for any B-series R-2800 Thunderbolts. Not only late D's. The constant speed governor was different for hydraulic and electric driven blades.
