Did you find a P&D-set, Janne? You are of course welcome to borrow any of mine if not.

Kind of what I had in mind...might pop by One of these days. You've saved me before with your exquisite sets if memory serves. ;)

Been doing MERs....

The EDuard MERs are really exquisite small models in their own right! I don´t think I´ll be using anything else in the future!

I needed 4 of them for this build...lots of small parts and decals to go with them.

I drilled out the rear ends with a 1.6mm dril, I believe there is a little controlpanel in there

All 4 built and ready for paint.

I primed them in Alclad white primer and then I painted them in gloss white.

Next tsome details and decals :D

Cheers!

Gorgeous MERs, wow -- so wonderfully detailed.  And its got those curved placards, too. I had to cut up the Hase ones for those. That would've been a real time-saver. Now I feel like I served time : (

Indeed...they are wonderful, think I can bin all others I have...same with snakes and rockeyes, the Ed stuff is pricey but the quality is well worth the money!

Wish they produced bigger sets of 24 and 12,  they ran out on Hannant's...I had to complement with early snakes to get my numbers up.

Hi.

I've been following this marvellous build from the back row, but with your choice of MER & TER 1/48 I totally commit to get as much as you can.

I did the same with the 1/32 stock of Hannants when the first arrived.

Keep up with the quality of building, it's always a treat to see your progress.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

Great work Aigore. You've got a lot of money dumped into this project with all that after market stuff but, it will be worth it.

Steve

Yeah, I know but spread out per hour of fun it is not half bad :D

You should remember my ESCi Viggen build....that was pricey :P

Stairway to heaven..

My mate Erik lent me his P&D set so now we´re in business!

IMG_3906_zps2fitu4ku.jpg

I went at it....and well the first result wasn´t that good.

IMG_3907_zps1wifmfj8.jpg

So 4 new frames were made...

IMG_3909_zpsugkqmwgx.jpg

Took some care in punching the holes this time...

IMG_3910_zpsdpkgow9c.jpg

I´m good with this, some minor variations but it´ll still look good.

IMG_3913_zpsutszz4rp.jpg

Time to assemble the ladders!

IMG_3914_zpsp4hybqds.jpg

put some piano wire in for stability.

IMG_3915_zpsfdtcppyi.jpg

Punched small holes in the steps.

IMG_3916_zpsti7tosm2.jpg

Glued them in...

IMG_3917_zps544tqvtg.jpg

added more parts to the steps.

IMG_3918_zpsspzvqri1.jpg

Made handle bars...

IMG_3919_zpslhrk62s5.jpg

And put them in...

IMG_3920_zpslbsmyd5v.jpg

Now the ladders are pretty much done, I´ll do some tweaking and then add the supports after painting.

I´m pretty happy with them, sure I could go really anal if I wanted to but there is a reason why I never win model shows, I´m too lazy for that last bit of perfection ;P

Cheers!

I see the Light!

I cleaned the ladders before primer...

IMG_3921_zpsn2lhez2p.jpg

On with black primer...

IMG_3922_zps9rdt6kex.jpg

Then white..

IMG_3923_zps79peicbc.jpg

painted in gloss white..

IMG_3924_zpsjbfndibd.jpg

A clear coat and a light wash.

IMG_3925_zpsbxeeyew5.jpg

And in they go!

IMG_3926_zpsn716mxlc.jpg

Added the supports..

IMG_3927_zpsgkdtsjqv.jpg

Done...looks far far better then the plastic lumps that were in the box :D

IMG_3928_zpsyaqcsgqs.jpg

Well per se the aircraft is done....all that is left are the pylons, MERs and all 22 snakes!

IMG_3929_zpsngu3m9c1.jpg

Cheers!

Janne,

Just an outstanding effort scratch building those two ladders.  I'm sure that you'd turn a few judges heads with them.

Joel

Thanx Joel :D

I'm really happy with how they turned out....and how robust they felt :)
