If I remember correctly, the Airfix Lanc (the older versions) have recessed wing attachment points on the fuselage so that the assembled wing(s) slot into these recesses quite snugly. When I built mine many years ago I assembled the fuselage (including the horizontal stabilizer but not the two vertical stabilizers...they are black so I left them off until the end), assembled both port and starboard wings (including the engines) and painted these assemblies separately. It made masking the camouflage easier. When done I then brought them all together without any seams showing at the wing-to-fuselage attachment points. In fact you don't even need glue as the wings fit quite snug...again, if I remember correctly.
