Hello:

Here you have a few pictures of my astronauts in 1/48 scale.  The model is from Space Helmet. My friend Ignacio made them https://spacehelmetmodels.wordpress.com/author/ignaciobernacer/ or look for his company in Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Space-Helmet-Models-438055056281252/ he had supercool selection of astronaut in all scales.

They were painted with mix Acrylics (AMMO Mig and Vallejo) and enamels from Model Master. The base coat was done with AMMO Oneshot Gary. I used a combination of White and Dark Gary diluted to achieve several tones of white for the suit shadows. The Weathering was done with AMMO MIg pigments and washes provided by https://www.facebook.com/raptorhobbies/ https://www.facebook.com/raptorhobbies/

from Canada. I varnish the figure with Vallejo Satin and the terrain with Microsol Flat. The Helmet were finish with Tamiya gloss clear.

Enjoy

Ricardo

Those are only 1/48???!!!

Ignacio is an excellent sculptor!! He has packed a lot of detail into those?

But, Ricardo, let me offer my humble opinion. The dark wash you've used is too dark. If it was just used around the legs, that would look better, but because the same dark, almost Black wash, is in every crease all over, even on the PLSS, it, to me, detracts from the figures themselves.

I do like the poses and the terrain though!

I hope to be at the Hamilton show next year, and I hope to see you there too! I see there's no Ajax show this fall.

Pete:

You also can find it on 1/72 jajaja.

Ignacio sculpted those figures also in 1/24, way before hi started Space Helmet  Models. These are sold by New Ware Tom company,  here you have the link http://mek.kosmo.cz/newware/nw044.htm and you can se Sven review in here http://ninfinger.org/models/newware/moonwalker.html. I dont have it. But I would like to pair it with and LRV that I have from Lunar Models.

Thanks for you opinion, it's valid, but the way that I see is dust every were after EVA 1 and Charlie and Young lost a fender that they claim that it was showering them with dirt all the time.

But I will have it in mind for my next astronaut project.

There is still a contest this year by the people of Wellington, I am planning to go.

See you in the cyberspace

Ricardo
