One big mistake I see in the HIND kits is the pilot access door ...

Amazing work and I'm putting some questions together for your review.

1. How did you construct the oxygen bottles? They add a nice detail that can be seen from both sides of the cockpit.

2. The template for the cockpit flooring, was that designed by you or did you get that online?

 

I wish I can take a few hours to pick your brain.

Sammuel, follows answers:
-O2 cylinders were made using sprue pieces sanded on one side to stay flat and rounded on the other end (also by sandpaper).
-The floor was designed by me based on photos I observed of the original helicopter.

What's your method for all of these metal parts? I usually take some measurements, rough-cut card stock, and then trial fit until I have the correct shape. It looks like you have a more precise method.

My method is not very different from yours.


I measure the size, drawing the piece on the computer by CORELDRAW11, print on paper to do the fitting tests. I correct anything that goes wrong and repeat the operation. Once it's all okay it's cut on the aluminum plate.

 

The computer corrects the angles and the measurements made by it are very accurate. This helps a lot.

Funny, I use Inkscape to draw decals and masks. Just didn't occur to me to use it for plate parts. I suppose I could get ambitious and cut the paper on my Silhouette Portrait as well...
