I built the same kit (Monogram Mi-24 Hind D 1/48) back in 1987; it was my first helicopter ever. MAN do I appreciate all the more the stunning work you've done. Many thanks Andrew. sammuel
Amazing work and look forward each time I get an alert about your work. Started on my build and using some of your techniques for my project. Also doing some research. Is the troop cabin much different from the D and F versions of the Hind? Hi Sammuel, Answering your question, about versions D and F: the troop booths of these versions are practically the same, small differences exist only in the current and export versions when compared to the old ones. ALEXANDRE REZENDE
I noticed a common problem in this kit when the figure of the gunner is added to his seat ... The height of the gunner's cabin floor is incorrect! References... Correction works to stay ok ...

Now it is the turn of the "Raduga" system (electro-optical sighting pod KPS-53A) ... Interestingly, this complex "Raduga" was originally an underwater periscope (dating back to the 1930s) mounted upside down! The one in the kit is awful in detail ... References... I worked the top part of it in the gunner's cockpit ...

How do you cut it? dnl42, Thanks for attending the topic! I use aluminum plates cut from beer cans. I think they are 0.4 mm and are very malleable for folding and drilling. I usually cut using a good pair of scissors. Use sandpaper to round the ends. On 28/01/2018 at 2:31 PM, Swashplate said: Amazing work! Thanks Swashplate! ALEXANDRE REZENDE
This project provides for the use of LEDs for some navigation lights. A friend made a printed circuit board to simulate the navigation lights (thanks to friend Willer) ... I took advantage to enter more details that I had previously searched ... The turn of the side doors that are tilting has arrived (the bottom of them has a step of access for the soldiers to embark or leave the helicopter) ... One side of the kit has the fixed doors with option only to glue the doors on the right side ... I cut the second door, but the kit parts are very bad, needing many adjustments to get good ... References... Improvements The access step of the kit is bad and does not look like the real one, so I drew a new one to cut into aluminum foil ...
ALEXANDRE REZENDE
I made the improvements in the front landing gear ... Tests in the landing gear compartment ... This is the main landing gear in the way the kit proposes ... Study of the references for the main landing gear ... Plug-in tests .... Shock absorber detail ... Something strange in the doors ... Correcting ... Then continue ...

sammuel
As always, you work is just amazing and real craftsmanship. Your landing gear bay is interesting. So is the kit landing bay completely wrong? Would you be interested in selling your templates? If so, I would like to purchase a set of your cockpit template. Thank you for the education you are giving all of us on scratch building Respectfully,
