Probably the greatest hind build I’ve ever seen.

Thanks CWILL1117!

Too bad we did not have a good 1/48 Mi-24 kit and it needs so many scratchs, but this technique after great results!
Thanks for joining.

Follow the assembly ...

The cardan shaft of the tail rotor was shaking a lot, so I changed the configuration by reducing the shaft and putting a small electric motor just for him ...

Unbelievable. Wow. You are motorizing the rotors too?

Hi midnightprowler !

Yes. In this model I tried adding lights and motors to the rotors.

This really does generate a lot of work, but it had to do to see how it was.

Where do you even start in scratchbuilding this stuff? Like how to you do it?

What materials do you use and tools? How do you shape them?

CWILL1117,

The first step is to access many reference pictures of the parts you need to create in scratch.
Then I use vectorized drawing software to draw the pieces (already in the scale I'm working on). The drawings are printed on paper and folded to be tested on the model. If there is a problem in the part, it undergoes the corrections and testo again in the paper model. Once everything is okay about the shape and dimensions of the piece, cut it into the aluminum plate and double (like it was a PE). The painting finishes composing the piece. There are cases where I carve all the piece (usually pieces that would be difficult to fold).

Basically the process I use is like this.

This is really cool. What software do you use? And where can you buy said aluminum plates?

The software I use is CORELDRAW11.

Aluminum sheets are obtained from beer or soda cans (they are cut and flattened).

In my signature you will see other assemblies that use this technique.

every update, when you think no more superlatives can be said... you need to check for more.

There are also smaller LED's then the one you use... the one you see on the tail is pretty large considering the model. there is also an possibility to sand the tip in shape, but don't touch the electrodes...
