I.Martin
Hello all. I was wondering if the RAF Jaguars carried the TIALD pod at Granby or any other desert operation. Thanks!! I.Martin
Stephen
TIALD wasn't integrated to the Jaguar until the mid 1990's . It was carried by the Jaguar during Operation Deliberate Force (Sep 1995) to designate targets for RAF Harrier GR.7's. During Operation Granby there were actually only two TIALD pods in existence ( One was the trials pod , the other hurriedly manufactured) as it was still in the testing stage and rushed into service for use during the later stages of the conflict and were only carried by the Tornado GR.1 . Hello Stephen, thank you very much for your clear and precise information. Now I have to find an alternative and I must say I don't like the Vinten recce pod so it isn't going to be easy.... Thanks again!! I.Martin Jaguar and TIALD
