Bensi
Hello, This is my first post in ARC - A build of two IAF F-16 double seaters:F-16B and F-16D. Hope you'll enjoy The Ingredients: For the F-16B 1/48 scale F-16B Hasegawa Isradecal decals Master Pitot tube and Angle of Attack transmitters kit Quickboost seats For the F-16D 1/48 scale F-16D Kinetic OK, lets start: The cockpit was assembled and painted in Humbrol 127 Gray. After drying, the console panels were painted in Humbrol 33 flat Black. After drying I did a Dry Brush on the cockpit. The structure of the seats were painted in Humbrol 127 Gray and the seats in Revell 361 Green. The exhausts of the two aircraft were assembled and painted in Alclad 101 Aluminium and Alclad 105. The liners of the two exhausts were painted in White and "got dirty" The nest step is assembling the two aircraft bodies. F-16D Assembly F-16D dorsal assembly: After full drying, I assembled the air intake and attached it to the Main Landing Gear (MLG) well. Not a perfect attachment but can be easily repaired using a putty. Later on, I assembled the MLG well parts and painted them. An image worth 1000 words, so: Then, I assembled the cockpit and glue it to the upper body part, after full dry, I added some weight in the nose of the aircraft (as instructed). This is very important, it prevents the aircraft from leaning on its tail after assembly. The two body parts were glued to each other and thankfully they're located perfect. Bensi
Thanks so much guys, A bit more... F-16B Assembly The F-16B body is much easier to assemble - The Hasegawa model has a perfect much (I dont know why Kinetic's upper body part is built of two items). The landing gears were assembled and painted in White Tamiya X-2 with a bit of gold on the upper part of the struts. the wheels were painted in Matt Black. The F-16B will be armed with three external fuel tanks (370 Gallon on wing stations, one 300 Gallon on the belly), two A/A AIM-9 missiles at the wingtips and three MK82 on TER. Because my F-16D is going to be equipped with 600 Gallons I borrowed the 370 Gallon external fuel tanks for the F-16B (I think they are better looking than the Hasegawa ). Notice that I cut the speed brakes because I am going to assemble them in open position: Then I prepared and assembled the speed brakes in open position: My F-16B is ready for primer. The next step was the preparation of both canopies: First , I got rid of the annoying casting marks of the canopies using very delicate sandpapers (600, 1000, 1200 and 2000 grit). Then I applied Tamiya course and fine polishes and smear them gently on the sanded area using lint-free cloth. The final stage was to soak the canopies into Future and let them dry for 24 Hrs. After a full dry, I masked the canopies using Tamiya masking tape: To be continued Bensi
Bensi
More progress on my F-16s: After masking both canopies I placed them on the aircraft (without gluing) and then I primed both aircraft and after drying I preshaded with Humbrol 33 flat Black. I also painted the LG wells in White and after drying I masked them. F-16D: F-16B: F-16D Painting The F-16D will be painted in the Scorpion squadron scheme. The lower side was painted in Humbrol 127 gray, with the fins edges in Humbrol 174 Red The upper part sand scheme painted in Humbrol 121 Pale Stone Matt: The pale green scheme was painted in Xtracolor 166 Green: And the brown scheme was painted in Humbrol 119 Light Earth Matt: The radome and the wing tip launchers were painted in Humbrol 128 Compass Grey Satin External stores for the F-16D were also prepared, painted and after drying I placed the relevant decals on them: F-16B Painting The F-16B will be painted in the Negev squadron scheme as it was in the 1988 (same colors used for the F-16D were also used to paint the F-16B) More to come Comments will be mostly appreciated Bensi

Bensi
Finishing: F-16B After the paint dried, I applied Future over the whole model and after one day of full dry, put the decals on using Microset and Microsol: The aircraft after Alclad gloss varnish: After drying period of 24 hrs, I applied Promodeller wash and after I was satisfied with the "dirt", I closed the model with Vallejo mat varnish. Work done: F-16D Same process as for the F-16B: Future, decals: After Gloss varnish, wash: and after "arming" the aircraft: The F-16s side by side: Thanks for watching Bensi
