USAFsparkchaser
Has there been any official FS colors called out for it’s paint?
my favs are F`s
This plane looks like 50+ shades of grey after weathering... :)) Yet the instruction manual should suggest some basic colors.
airmechaja
The instructions do suggest but I haven't seen any that look quite right.
USAFsparkchaser
I am thinking of using 36251 navy aggressor gray and gunship gray for the darker part and light ghost gray for the edges.
airmechaja
Those are the colors I used on my last F-22...............for what it's worth, I think it's a good choice.
Paul Boyer
Some kit manufacturer's suggest painting the F-22 in the "Mod Eagle" colors, but they are way off. Witness this: I tried fudging the colors mixing a couple of Testor Metalizer colors, but I haven't found a satisfactory formula.
airmechaja
Yeah, Mod Eagle colors don't work at all. I think Academy suggests them.
foxmulder_ms
I did this couple years ago: Light ghost gray edges, stainless steel main color, anthracite gray darker tone. I think edges and main color looks ok but the darker one was off.

I've seen some good suggestions and some great builds. I'll check my notes and post. But to get the metallic sheen, I just mix Testors *gloss silver* in the 1/4 oz bottle with standard colors called for. Or....with the colors that look the best to me. Somehow this gloss silver combination looks great.....for any plane with a "sheen". Not perfect....but pretty good!

IAGeezer
If I may add to the discussion; http://www.arcair.com/tnt1/101-200/tnt151-F-22-painting/00.shtm Looks pretty good to me!
