WW II era USN letter and number decals/stencils?

Recommended Posts

Curious if there are stencils (or decals) for WWII era US Navy type font.

Specifically I'm after two sizes of the number "21" in 1/48th scale to build a VC-42 Avenger off the USS Bogue  (see upper right, below).

Assuming Superscale got it right, the font appears to be the 60-degree block style found on postwar aircraft, for which there is a computer font (Longbeach USN), which I own. Since the numbers are black, it'd be pretty easy to home print them. I'm willing to make them for you if you're interested. I'd need actual or scale heights for the two sizes. If you're interested, email me at pnmoss (at) comcast (dot) net.

p.s. As you've probably already found, there's a picture of the plane in the In Action book on pg. 29. It confirms the use of the 60-degree numbers, which I thought might be incorrect. Apparently not.
