Here's what the aircrew should report;

We experienced a flight control malfunction at altitude, an HMR (Hazardous Material Report) is currently being drafted. The aircraft has been grounded until the sources of the malfunction can be located and corrected. (Slips the Airframes LPO and QAR a fifth of Jack) - Several pieces of FOD were discovered near the front seat fight controls, it is believe that they jammed the stick momentarily causing the aircraft to flight erratically until the pilot was able to free the stick and regain control flight.

Agree! Oprep should read "encountered uncommanded control inputs in horizontal plane with multiple reversals while performing evasive maneuvers to avoid collision with a blivet at altitude. Suspect catastrophic AFCS malfunction or FOD obstruction".

So, our intrepid sky artists only got their wrists slapped: LINK   It was a juvenile stunt, but the five year old in me is still laughing his butt off.

Their squadron mates would be negligent if they didn't decorate an entire tree with these in their honor:  Christmas ornament

For some reason this...

"WARNING: ARTICLE CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGE"

...from the above ^^^ article gave me more of a chuckle then the actual sky drawing. We now have to warn the populace about a wanker drawn in the sky. O.k...sure...

Regards,

Don

Meh, I give the B-52 Commander a mere 5 out of 10 for the tally wacker drawings. Highly unoriginal though. Being Commander of the 69th Bomb Squadron he had so much more material to work with...:whistle:

That was then, this is now.

 That Fairchild accident was horrible, Bud Holland should have lost his wings years before the crash.   Google “A darker shade of blue”, fascinating write up on this.   It’s used as a case study for failed leadership.

Edit - link to above mentioned case study provided:    http://sbfpd.org/uploads/3/0/9/6/3096011/darker_shades_of_blue.pdf
