Adults only Trumpeter 1/32 Mig-3 (it's Naked!!)

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Here's my rather adequate attempt at a nude Mig-3 (I've seen much better). Straight out of the box - only thing not in the box were the German wood grain decals (same ones I used on the Dragonfly). No resin and no modifications (I couldn't be bothered really). No lighting and no detailing. Just a nice shake and bake kit build - something I haven't done in years. And I liked it!

Well, that's all I have. I'm happy enough with how it came out. The decals were a PITA to work with though - not very strong and tear very easily.

As always - thanks for stopping in and having a look

Si

Where did you get the decals?

from here: https://www.uschivdr.com/shopping-categories/shop-wood-grain-decals/

They are very thin and lift off the backing paper without water but they conform well and take to solution nicely. I bought the HO-223 set which gives you 6 sheets and out of those 6 I have decalled this and a Dragonfly and I still have 3.5 untouched sheets which I will find a use for another time

Just a fantastic build and finish replicating A Mig 3 before the wood sections were painted. Now that's a finish one rarely sees. I've only seen one other aircraft that had a decaled wood finish, a 1/32 Tamiya Mossie.
