DraganChe
Hello friends, Just started Testors Sr-71 in 1/48 scale. It will be "B" version in NASA operation colours. It is airframe 61-7956, usage in NASA -1992. It is this aircraft. We probably all know pros and cons about this kit...all I can say that I have great MOJO for finishing it, and I want to thank my friend Albert, who is member on this forum for providing me decals for it :-), thank you my friend. This is background in working area: First, I start by getting all big parts together, because while I was researching vie internet for info what is most important. I have found out next: THE most important thing is to get it all line up... because it is really big kit. So, when i finished that, which was not at all easy part, but it was enjoying, I started to scribe details on engine aerodynamic front cover. What I was noticed is that the plastic just let you do that, it is perfect quality for scribing, and you can do all kind of variations with panel lines, it just go easy. Riveting.. no big deal...they are presented perfectly without much stress... That is it for today...more to come soon. Thank you for watching. Dragan. Kurt H.
I have one of those on my shelf of doom, and I am also building it as the SR-71B. And it is at about the same stage as yours. Please keep posting, it is an inspiration to finish mine.
my favs are F`s
Hi, congrats for starting this monster in such a scale! Btw, i could recommend to cut the ring behind the cone that blocks the view inside the intake. I built it in 1/72 and check out how it is possible to see through the intake down to the compressor blades:
