I had some fun with an out of box nostalgia build of Monogram’s old 1/32 scale F3F-3. The landing gear even works! I used Yellow Wings decals, Mr. Color and Alclad paints, and EZ Line for the rigging. As I was rigging it, I remembered why I don’t like doing biplanes! The markings are for VF-5 off the Yorktown (red tail). It’s the 4th section, #10 plane (black cowl, fuselage stripe, and wing chevrons).

Darren,

What a truly super build that for me is a walk down memory lane. You sir have done that old Monogram kit justice for sure. The finish is not only extraordinarily well done, , but with the all one tonnage of the Aluminum it really represents that fact that the aircraft was painted Aluminum dope, not left in a natural metal state.  As for your rigging, it looks darn perfect, but just think how much fun you would have had if it was double rigged

Joel
