You will usually find mutli-colored markings on the "CAG bird" - the aircraft in a squadron that is marked with the name of the Commander of the Air Group (CAG), now formally designated as an Air Wing. The Modex (three digit number applied to the aircraft, in this case 400) of the CAG bird always ends with "00" (modex uniquely identifies each plane within the air wing). These aircraft are usually decorated more colorfully than others in the unit. The multiple colors represent the colors of each of the squadrons in the wing.
