Which 1/72 Eurofighter should I choose?

Recommended Posts

Just a simple question for those more familiar with the Eurofighter kits in 1/72 than I am. I am going to build the BoB Eurofighter and have two kits easily available to me.

One of them is the Revell Kit: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/140041-revell-04334-eurofighter-2000

and the other is the Italeri Kit: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Italeri-042-EF-2000-Eurofighter-1-72-Modelling-Set-NIB/263184163332?hash=item3d46ffa204:g:NbwAAOSwl75Zq8e5

Now the question is which one is the better kit? The Revell kit is $5 more than the Italeri kit but that doesn't make a difference for me at all. Does one have recessed panel lines while the other doesn't? I would prefer recessed panel lines if that also is a factor in which kit I should buy. Also would neither kit be an accurate model and should I go for a Typhoon IIB version because I really don't know the differences between the 2000 and the Typhoon IIB.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

In the link you provided for the Revell, look at the timeline. The first new tool was the 2seater in '04 followed by the single in '07. That's the one you should be looking for. Or indeed hasegawa, but they are a tad too expensive for a Tiffie if you ask me.

Greetings!

04317 is the new tool that come after the Italeri rebox, from BM it was said it has the panel lines around the canopy for a two seater and needs some touch ups here and there,it was also reboxed by Hasegawa in their Idolcrapmaster boxings which sometimes can be found (at least in Japan) as cheap as 10 bucks

Newer updated tool just lack decals and is overpriced but it fixed the panel lines problems and I think it has the missing pylon that was not included in 04317 boxing

Hello

Revell vs Italeri, I would say Revell without too much doubt

Hello,

I was meaning the Revell own moulding of course.

I am sorry I did not take into account  the old Revell policy to mix different kits of the same aircraft in their range.

Thank you for the correction.

Notice Revell further released late 2016/early 2017 another new revised and simplified tool /72nd Eurofighter/Typhoon kit - ref. 03952
